observation: many times i sit and watch the parent/parents of these children and i think who's playing this game anyway. some of the parents are way too involved, self absorbed, and spend way to much money. they equate expensive as better and sometimes, it is, but if the kid does not have the heart or the talent all the expensive equipment, training classes, training facilities, and payed coaches don't make a hill of beans.
i like this team my son is on, allot it is a bunch of kids that play league ball for spring branch memorial sports association (S.B.M.S.A) the coach is really good with the kids we are not always the best but it is fun to beat some of the pro teams the very hard core tourney teams.
recycled: i play this in my mind like this, "c'mon little johnny why the hell cant you hit the ball?" that bat you got there is the best on the market it was made from the finest Chines super light weight titanium, built by the best sweet shop slaves in the world." followed up by. "and your fielding sucks that is the best glove ever made. it's made from the finest circumcised foreskins, from the strongest Jewish boys in the world. you need to rube it so it grows bigger so you can catch anything." says the the parent who starts shaking and turning red in the face "tell your coach to get his ass over here!" as the coach walks up the parent starts wagging their finger in his face saying "so you think just because you've played on two teams that won the world series, and you've got tons of golden gloves, m.v.p. awards, and cy young awards,that, that's supposed to means shit." pointing at little Johnny "you just look at him he ain't producing and now hes a 11 yr old has-been all because of you." exclaims the furious parent followed with. "what do you have to say a bought that?" the coach replies "i'm sorry, Ms. Johnny (so and so), but didn't your kid die of heat stroke last week" she replies with a shocked look on her face "well yes but we just signed a contract with this kid .................and so on
shocked by my story? well it's kinda close to the truth. what i'm trying to say is always remember who's really playing i'm glad the others come out it helps round out teams but i think it would be better if some of the folks would stop living through there kids and instead live with them.i'm just saying, i could be wrong.
